Community After School Program

Programs
The Community after School Program operates 16, 2 Star, licensed childcare programs that operate before and after school in the Norman Public Schools and Robin Hill Public School. Programs meet both licensing and Stars requirements as outlined by the Department of Human Services. CASP contracts with DHS for childcare reimbursement payments as well as various tribal subsidy programs. Additionally, CASP offers a tuition scholarship program funded by the United Way of Norman and City of Norman for qualifying families. Programs are located on-site at each elementary school location thus eliminating transportation issues and giving parents peace of mind while they begin or end their workday.

Employment at CASP
The Community after School Program is currently hiring part-time teachers to work in our school-age program! CASP is a great place to gain practical experience working with school-age children while providing a much needed social service in our community. If you are considering a career in teaching or just love working with children, CASP is the place for you!  For more information please visithttp://www.caspinc.org/employment.shtml or contact Ashleigh Scarbrough, Human Resources Coordinator at 366-5970

Wish List
CASP is in need children’s clothing, sunscreen and baby wipes for summer activities. They can be new or used in all sizes. They keep a limited supply and often the clothing does not return to them and their supply is running low.

They are also in need of the following items for our elementary school programs: DVD Players, 100 piece puzzles, bean bags, footballs, soccer balls, basketballs, legos, Lincoln logs, building blocks, baby doll accessories, hot wheels, board games, carpet squares, folding video chairs, arts & craft supplies, rolling book carts, Barbie dolls & accessories, dress up clothes, printers, laptop computers

CASP Loves Volunteers!
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact CASP today! Volunteers mentor children in many areas including homework and reading. They also provide positive role models while playing sports, board games and participating in a variety of activities. If you have talent such as singing, playing and instrument, painting, knitting, sewing or beading, why not share it with our children? Volunteer applications can be found at http://www.caspinc.org/volunteer.shtml

Thank you to Candie Westbrook, Sales Representative at the NCED Conference Center & Hotel, who serves on the Community Activism Team, for writing this blog about the Community after School Program in Norman.
