The John Maxwell Leadership Event was a HUGE success! The theme of the event was Norman NEXT's own, "Be A Positive. In Work. In Others. In Life." We heard from three great speakers, including OKC Mayor Mick Cornett, Former Oklahoma First Lady Kim Henry, and internationally recognized leadership speaker, Dr. John Maxwell, who shared their stories about what it truly means to Be A Positive leader.
Thank you to everyone who helped make the event a huge success, especially our event partner, Journey Church. We'd also like to thank the event sponsors and the volunteers. Without them, the event would not have been possible. And last, but certainly not least, we'd like to thank everyone who attended for their shared interest and belief in positive leadership. We hope you all were inspired in some way to go out and Be A Positive agent of change for Norman.
Team Events:
Program Purpose:
Norman Next’s mission is to
attract, retain and propel the best and brightest young professionals in
Norman. In an effort to support that mission we have created the
Mentorship Program to connect young professionals with established
members of the Norman community.
Program Kick-Off:
This
is the first opportunity for mentor and mentee to meet and establish
their goals. All regular meetings between mentee and mentor will be
coordinated by the participants.
Program Guidelines & Important Dates:
Submit $25 participation fee at the time of application. Mentees and mentors must attend an update meeting and a wrap-up session. Examples of possible interactions would include lunch, job shadowing,
introduction to an organization such as Rotary, happy hour, etc. The
goal is to provide an opportunity for mentee to gain insight into career
paths, community, and/or professional growth. Most critically, this is
an opportunity for mentee to meet and connect with a prominent member
of our community.
Team Meeting Schedule:
Fourth Tuesday of every month
5:30 p.m.
Blu Restaurant
201 S. Crawford Ave.
Team meetings provide team members the opportunity to bring their own leadership talents and help build stronger young professionals across the community.
